BYU Professor Leaves For UVSC
BYU Professor Leaves For UVSC (BYU’s loss is gain for UVSC)
The Deseret News reported on June 12, 2000, page D3, (previously linked here–the link has gone dead) that Samuel Rushforth took the post as dean of science and health at UVSC as part of the small but steady migration of professors from BYU leaving due to the limitations of academic freedom allowed there. Brad Cook, Tim Slover, Scott Abbott and Eugene England had previously done the same. Abbott founded BYU’s chapter of the American Association of University Professors.
