A news and features magazine, Sunstone emphasizes contemporary Mormon experience, scholarship, issues, and art–including 10-15 new cartoons in each issue from Pat Bagley, Cal Grondahl, and other humorists. An accessible, well-balanced publication–perfect for curling up with in an easy chair–Sunstone keeps readers apprised of up-to-the-minute developments, major trends, and resources available from other publications and organizations.

The news section is divided into sections sporting breaking headlines, updates, reports on speeches and conferences, notes about people, offbeat happenings reported as “Sun Spots,” regular updates on BYU, quotes from the outside media, announcements of forthcoming events, and Mormon internet news and connections.

The features section includes richly illustrated short stories and essays, as well as footnoted surveys of historical and sociological topics and other matters of interest. There are regular columns, guest editorials, reviews, book notes, poetry, letters to the editor, and other offerings.

United States subscriptions to Sunstone are $36.00 for 8 issues, $65.00 for 16 issues, and $90.00 for 24 issues. Eight-issue international subscriptions are $36.00 (U.S.) for Cananda, Mexico, and for surface mail to all other countries. International airmail subscriptions are $4.00 extra per issue. Bona fide student and missionary subscriptions are $10.00 less than the above rates.

The Journal of Mormon History publishes scholarly research in the field of Mormon history, including nineteenth- and twentieth-century topics, regional and local history, women’s studies, and ethnic/minority issues. Articles are screened for accuracy, originality, and literary quality, and the board of editors encourages interpretative over strictly expositional writing.

Dialogue : A Journal of Mormon Thought (is a quarterly publication of 200+ pages) 801-363-9988

An independent quarterly established to express Mormon culture and to examine the relevance of religion to secular life. It is edited by Latter-day Saints who wish to bring their faith into dialogue with the larger stream of world religious thought and with human experience as a whole and to foster artistic and scholarly achievement based on their cultural heritage. The journal encourages a variety of viewpoints; although every effort is made to ensure accurate scholarship and responsible judgment.
