A new creed for women in the Mormon Relief Society

The following is from the exmormon.org bulletin board in response to the new creed created for Mormon women (apparently by Mormon men).

Here is my answer to the "breed creed" created by Boyd K. Packer.

(my version in Bold)

> WE are beloved spirit daughters of God,

I am my own person, with unique talents and personality.

> and our lives have meaning, purpose, and direction.

I will live my life as if EVERY day were a precious gift, not wanting to waste a moment of it.

> As a worldwide sisterhood, we are united in our devotion to Jesus Christ, our Savior and Exemplar.

As human beings we have the duty to treat others in a respectful, meaningful way…as we expect to be treated by them.

> Increase our testimonies of Jesus Christ through prayer and scripture study.

Learn of all peoples, cultures, and religions through study and questioning so as to understand all people.

> ~~~~~

> Seek spiritual strength by following the promptings of the Holy Ghost.

Seek the works of great writers and artists so that I can appreciate the wonder of the human mind and body.

> ~~~~~

> Dedicate ourselves to strengthening marriages, families, and homes.

Become a knowlegable woman in all relationships, especially the one with myself, because if I can have respect for who I am, I in turn can love others.

> ~~~~~

> Find nobility in motherhood and joy in womanhood.

Find nobility in the wonderful gift of life. Be amazed at these wonderful bodies and the sensations and pleasures that they afford me. See a sunset, smell a flower, touch another, listen to Bach, taste of the goodness of life.

> ~~~~~

> Delight in service and good works.

Do good for others because I wish to ease their burdens and make this planet a better place to be both physically and emotionally.

> ~~~~~

> Love life and learning.

Love life and learning from all the storage of knowlege this world has to offer, including opposing views so I cannot be accused of living a sheltered life.

> ~~~~~

> Stand for truth and righteousness.

Stand for your principals and justice for all humans

> ~~~~~

> Sustain the priesthood as the authority of God on earth.

I know what is best for me, I will follow my intuition…yet understand that risks can make life worth living.

> ~~~~~

> Rejoice in the blessings of the temple, understand our divine destiny, and strive for exaltation.

Strive to be the best person I can be. Follow my dreams and see where they could lead me.
