LDS Temple Recommends

The following are pictures of three LDS Temple recommends.

The first one, below, was printed in 1963. It measured 5 1/8 x 8 1/8 inches, and was printed on front and back. Both sides are shown here.

The Recommend below was used throughout the 1970s. It measures 3 7/8 x 4 7/8 inches. This exemplar was once issued, and the expiration stamp (issued at the temple) had been retained, though all personal information is deleted.

From about 1981 to 1988 LDS Temple Recommeneds were placed in a transparent plastic credit card-like case. They had a magnetic strip which was used to facilitate record keeping in the temple. This proved ineffective, and the project was dropped.

The recommened below was printed in 1988, just after the earlier 1980s version (mentioned above) was cancelled. It measures 2 7/8 x 3 5/8 inches.
